Alappuzha Beach is a beach in Alappuzha town and a tourist attraction in Kerala, India. Alapuzha beach is a normal beach always filled with local crowd. This beach has an interesting view of fish nets with fish by the fishermen and stunning views of setting sun over blue expanse of water.The beach in Alappuzha is quite nice to walk on and good place to escape the business of the city.There is a small park and Alappuzha lighthouse nearby to this beach.
Alappuzha light house built in 1862 by the ruler Marthanda Varma to guide the ships coming to Alleppey seaport. Climbing up the light house through the spiral iron steps was bit scary and on reaching the top we could see the beach, sea,surrounding area and the gentle breeze.
Kerala’s first international sand art festival and competition held on April 26-2015 in alappuzha beach. Many national and international sand artists participated in event. The state tourism department and the Alleppey Foundation has jointly organised the event.
